There are so many exciting things going on during Kids' Fest this summer from the mysteries of Peter Gossamer's illusions to the silliness of VeggieTales and the thrill of a ride on WildFire.  Just when you thought you knew everything happening during the Biggest Kid's Fest Ever, I'm here to tell you even more that you won't want to miss!

On hot and muggy summer days at the park I really enjoy finding some time to take my family indoors to see one of the world-class shows presented at Silver Dollar City.  One show you will not want to miss this summer is the All-New Ice Circus.  The circus is one of my favorite summertime activities and, as usual, the folks at SDC have out-done themselves in the creation of a classic circus with a twist - ICE!

I caught up with Rex Burdette, the show's producer, today and he shared some fun behind the scenes facts about Ice Circus just for MomsBlog readers.

  • Ice Circus features world-champion skaters from across the globe including Russia, Canada, Ukraine and the United States.  These incredible athletes have performed in Cirque, Ice Capades, Disney on Ice, Moscow Ice Circus and much more.
  • The Silk Aerialists featured in the show are married.  They came to Silver Dollar City's Ice Circus from the Russia on Ice show.
  • What do a Rubik's Cube and an Ice Skater have in common?  Well, both the Rubik's Cube and the Ice Rink are square.  No one can deny, a Rubik's Cube and Ice Skating are difficult to master.  And...the Ice Circus features both!  You won't believe your eyes as one of the talented performers solves a Rubik's Cube on the ice while juggling!  Talk about a multi-tasker!
  • Ice Circus is the only ice show in the U.S.A. to feature "Skaters on Stilts," an incredible act of daring and skill.
  • Ice Circus features a variety of performers showcasing their incredible talent in feats such as juggling with fire, acrobatics, comedy on ice and shadow juggling!

There's really no way to describe all of the fantastic aspects of this show- you will just need to see it for yourself!

And...don't miss your last chance to participate in a summer Pin Trading Event!   The last of three special pin trading events is happening tomorrow at Silver Dollar City.  The winning entry of the 2008 Design-A-Pin Contest, Teen Division will be officially unveiled at 1PM in the Hospitality House.  The Lost River Trading Pin was designed by Margo Rodewald inspired by her memories made there with family.  Don't miss your opportunity to see this new pin's debut and visit with fellow traders.

See you at the City!
