Lantern Light Tours of Marvel Cave I've visited theme parks across America and I can say from my experience, Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri is like no other. The uniqueness of the City stems in part from the natural beauty of Ozark Mountain Country. Unlike a traditional asphalt theme park environment, Silver Dollar City is nestled in lush hills among centuries old trees with the natural wonder of the Ozarks as a breathtaking backdrop to theme park fun. There's even a spectacular cave on park! When visiting the City, a tour of Marvel Cave is included with your ticket. If you've never taken the time to tour Silver Dollar City's Marvel Cave, make 2008 the year. You will be awe-struck at the beauty and scale of Marvel Cave. Did you know in the 1950s they added dance floors and bleachers to the cave's majestic Cathedral Room and held an annual square dance festival? The Cathedral Room is the largest cave entrance room in the US. Marvel Cave is so worth exploring. Your kids will never forget the experience and the marvel of this spectacular natural wonder. You might want to check out the new Lantern Light Tours (there is a minimal fee for this tour)...you'll step back in time and experience Marvel Cave just as the early explorers did - by lantern light! Ths unique tour is limited to 20 guests per day. Reservations are needed and kids need to be at least eight years old to join the group. Touring a cave by lantern light is not something you can do everyday... and not something you'd find at a typical theme park. Are there any spelunker moms online?

My son loved the Lantern Light tour last year! He was fascinated by the cave formations, as well as the Cathedral room. We plan on making the lantern light tour a part of our next visit.

Okay...I'll admit it. I am a spelunker mom! My first visit in the cave was actually when my mom was pregnant with me, so I was destined to love Marvel Cave. I can still remember the vastness of the Cathedral room and the trip down the tower on my very first cave tour as a little girl. Last year, I was able to share the experience with my son and he really got a kick out of the cave. It's amazing to me the beauty that can be found underground...whether you are on a guided tour or out spelunking!

My first trip to the cave there was lightning outside, so they had to stop running the train at the exit of the cave. That meant we had to take the stairs back up to the cave entrance. No stairmaster workout would prepare you for that adventure! Ha ha! I have since been able to attend many proper cave tours, and agree it is one of the most unique and incredible experiences on park.

I agree that the beauty of Silver Dollar City and the Ozarks is like no other. There is one area that the park needs to improve on, greatly and that is disabled parking access!!

Parking for guests with disabilities is available in Silver Dollar City’s parking lot A on a first-come, first-served basis. When disabled parking is full, guests will be directed to other lots. If you are unable to board the conveyance from that lot, please alert staff and they will be happy to help. Don’t forget a Guest Drop Off area is also available for vehicles directed to park in other guest parking lots. All vehicles using a marked disabled parking space must have a government-issued license plate or displayed disabled parking tags. I hope this information helps!
