On Saturday, we headed down to the City to catch more of WorldFest and enjoy the beautiful weather. My mom had told me about a children's choir from Uganda that was there at the beginning of the festival and would return later in April.
She had told me that the choir was made up of AIDS orphans from Uganda and what an impression they had made on her. So, with a high reccomendation from my mom, we went to see the Watoto Children's Choir first thing. It was standing room only as people packed in to Boatworks theatre and waited for the show to start. When the music began and the children danced out onto the stage singing, I was captured. Their costumes were so colorful and the traditional African dance combined in their songs was a delight. I've never seen such energy and joy radiating from a stage at the City. Here were children who had gone through the horror of losing both their parents...orphans. And, they were so excited to share the hope they'd found in Jesus Christ through song, dance and their stories. The choreography of the numbers were so much fun and they even had the entire audience stand and particpate in one of the songs. Everyone was having a great time! I could go on and on, but if you haven't seen Watoto yet, get down to the City before WorldFest ends and see them. Watoto is WONDERFUL! Set as favorite Bookmark
