Bluegrass & Barbecue Opens this Weekend!

I love the Bluegrass & Barbecue festival because it takes me back to the early days of Silver Dollar City. Walking through the streets of the City I hear Bluegrass music around every corner
that keep my toes tappin' and yummy barbecue that keeps my lips smackin'! We're headed down this Saturday for opening day, May 10th... I can't wait!
The festival runs 23 days and features wonderful bluegrass groups on every stage throughout the City along with additional stages for that "bluegrass everywhere you go" sensation. Add to that Bluegrass greats like the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Rhonda Vincent, The Grascals and Cherryholmes PLUS stir in the great flavors of The House of BBQ serving up the savory barbecue tastes of Memphis, the Carolinas, Texas and Kansas City and you've got one awesome festival!
Now, for those of you who don't have your season passes, I talked to my friends at the City and here's the scoop:
-
You can upgrade your regular paid admission to a 1-Park Season Pass or All-City Pass when you visit any of the 3 parks.
-
An All-City Pass is a 3-park season pass good for Silver Dollar City, Celebration City and White Water.
-
At Silver Dollar City you can upgrade to a 1-Park Season Pass for only $35 or the All-City Pass for $80.
-
If you go to Celebration City you can upgrade to a 1-Park Season Pass for only $20 or the All-City Pass for $102.
-
When you visit White Water you can upgrade to a 1-Park Season Pass for only $35 or the All-City Pass for $93.
-
You can also purchase your Season Passes at participating Dierbergs, Hen House, Murphy USA and Cody's convenience stores at a discount price through May 31st.
Whew, that's alot of information but as a mom, I like to know all the details.
With all the talk of high gas prices I'm so thankful that Silver Dollar City is so close to home! When I was growning up, we didn't have the luxury of taking a vacation during the summer but we always made time to go to Silver Dollar City or White Water. Those are some really fond memories I have with my family. Today I am amazed at all the entertainment we get to enjoy and I treasure making memories with my child. With all the festivals and all that the City has to offer everyday, there's always a reason to keep coming back for more.
Maybe I'll see some of you at the Bluegrass & Barbecue Festival! If you see me tappin' my toes to some bluegrass tunes be sure to say hello! If I'm smackin' my lips... you might want to wait! LOL
