Frosty is fabulous!

Talk about frosty - it was a mere 46º outside when my family headed down to Silver Dollar City last Saturday to check out the Christmas festival.  We raided the closets for our cold weather gear and bundled up for a good time.

First on our agenda was checking out the new Frosty show.  We were sad to see our old friend Tinker leave last year, but the new show is a real treat!  The Boatworks Theater was packed when we got there, but luckily some nice ladies scooted over to let us sit down next to them.  Hannah got a big kick out of the show dancing and clapping to the music.  I really enjoyed singing along to some of my favorite Christmas carols like Jingle Bells and of course, Frosty the Snowman.  It was really cool how the snowman is actually built right before your eyes and magically comes to life when the silk hat drops on his head!   All of the kids got to go up on the stage to be a part of the action and one little girl even got to help build Frosty.  Frosty also told us the story of the first snowman, which was really touching.  Overall, I would highly recommend it!

While Frosty was great, A Dickens' Christmas Carol is actually my favorite show to see during the festival as well as a holiday tradition for my family. But, lines for the show can be really long, and I certainly don't enjoy standing in the freezing cold in order to see my favorite show.  This year we bought a Show Lover's Pass online before our visit and not only did we get to skip standing in line, but we also got to sit front and center in the VIP section and we got a FREE Silver Dollar City souvenir mug which we filled with, you guessed it, steaming hot chocolate!  The Show Lover's Pass costs $11 per ticket, but it was worth every penny not to have to wait in line for the show.  You can get more information and purchase a pass online or by calling 877-334-8181.

Looking forward to even more visits during the holidays this year, so I will see you at the City!
