Q: Should we go to SDC or CC this fall?
Posted by Mom411 in Silver Dollar City, Questions, Celebration City
They've never been to an amusement park before, so I'm not sure what their fear levels will be. I'd like to bring them to a park that not only has kid-friendly rides (which both appear to), but also have really fun and interactive events that would hold their attention well.
Thank you!"
A: I don't think you can go wrong by choosing to visit either of these parks. There is plenty available at both Celebration City and Silver Dollar City that your kids will enjoy, but I'll let you know a few of the parks' differences that might help you choose.
First, you might want to consider each park's schedule in your decision. Celebration City is only open on Fridays and Saturdays during September & October, (also closed 9/27 & 10/4). Silver Dollar City is open Wednesdays - Sundays during this time-frame. So, if one of the parks will be closed during the time you will be visiting that will make a difference in your choice.
Also, the parks are open during different times of the day. Celebration City is open from 3 PM -10 PM and Silver Dollar City is typically open from about 10 AM - 6 PM during this timeframe. So, if your kids tend to be at their best in the morning, you may want to choose SDC. If your kids tend to be more energetic in the evenings then you might consider a visit to CC.
Both offer many family fun attractions for your enjoyment. At Silver Dollar City you will find 10 family rides in the Grand Exposition area, the Silver Dollar Steam Train, Geyser Gulch Play Area and Flooded Mine that will be appropriate for your 2 and 4 year olds.
Celebration City has about 10 rides that are just the right size for guests under 56" in height. From a mini Frisco Steam Line to an Interactive Fountain that surprises with its jumping water spouts. Plus, Celebration City has added some exciting new additions - like a hay maze and tractor rides - to celebrate the fall season. Check out Noel's blog for more details.
Silver Dollar City is somewhat larger than Celebration City and offers more attractions and entertainment options so the cost for a one-day admission is about $50 compared to $30 for Celebration City. However, both parks offer excellent value for the price.
Most importantly, both Silver Dollar City and Celebration City offer great family fun, friendly staff and a safe, clean environment where you can create memories with your family.
Hope this information helps!
