Q:Virginia asks, "We have an 8 year and have 1 day left in Branson.  Which would you choose to visit, Celebration City or Silver Dollar City?"

A:  Well, you have a whole day why not do both!  Really, at age 8 there is plenty for your child to enjoy at either park.  I would choose based on what you think your family would enjoy most.  If your child is at his or her best during the morning, you might want to go for a day at Silver Dollar City.  However, if you have a night owl a visit to Celebration City might be more appropriate.

If your child loves the high thrills of steel coasters and Giant Swings or family fun rides like tea cups and a Wave Carousel, Silver Dollar City is for you.  If your child prefers wooden coasters or more family fun activities like bumper cars and mini golf, you might choose Celebration City.

Both of the parks have a fantastic selection of shows, with Silver Dollar City offering the new Magic of Peter Gossamer show and Ice Circus during its National Kids Fest beginning June 7, and Celebration City presenting a spectacular nightly laser show, Ignite the Night, and two new animal shows, Jump!  The Ultimate Dog Show and Extreme Parrots.

The parks also each have a distinct atmosphere, Silver Dollar City has the old-time feel of an 1880s mining town complete with authentic log cabins and employees dressed in period costume.  While Celebration City showcases the best of the 1900s with a vibrancy all over the park that takes you back to the swinging 20s and hoppin' 50s.

Both of the parks have plenty to offer your family, and I don't think you can go wrong whichever you choose.  However, those are just my thoughts.  All you Moms out there, if you had to choose one would you go to Silver Dollar City or Celebration City?
