Q: Alicia asks, "My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to Branson. We would like to go during the Christmas festival.

We have to children the oldest 5, and youngest will be almost 2 during the winter season.  We want to make the most of the trip for the boys and hope to make it tradition.  Any info, suggestions, tips, discounts, ect... are needed Thanks"

A: Great choice!  I LOVE visiting Silver Dollar City during An Old Time Christmas.  It has been a tradition for my family for years.

Your kids will be amazed by the way Silver Dollar City lights up for the holidays.  There are over 4 million lights all over the park during the festival and a musical 5-story Special Effects Christmas Tree that illuminates the town square with a spectacular music & light show every evening.

You will definitely want to see the Gifts of Christmas Holiday Light parade, with dazzling floats that travel the streets of Silver Dollar City.  And don't miss Silver Dollar City's adaption of the classic Charles Dickens tale, A Dickens' Christmas Carol.  The show is phenomenal!  I see it every year!

Don't even get me started on the delicious hot chocolate and fabulous holiday feasts!  My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

I would suggest checking out all you can in the festival section of Silver Dollar City's website now.  There is already plenty of information there about the festival.  And then, visit the website again closer to your trip to search for package deals and download show schedules.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! Just a little early :)

I personally think this is the best time of year to visit Branson. My husband and I started this tradition with our daughter when she was a year old. She is now 4 and looks forward to it each year. We are actually coming to Branson this weekend for a few days and we can't convince our daughter that she won't get to she Tinker the Talking Christmas Tree or Santa in the parade. SSD is great anytime of year for a fabulous family outing but nothing like at Christmas.
