Q: What days would you suggest visiting during Christmas?

The last time we went during November, it was Veterans Day and it was packed! We would like a few days with smaller crowds so we can enjoy things a little more and have an easier time getting in to the Christmas shows and such."
a: The holiday weekends typically are the busiest times during Christmas. As you learned the last time you visited, Veteran's Day is a busy time. Thanksgiving weekend is also a busy one, so I would suggest avoiding those weekends if possible to limit your chance of visiting when there are big crowds.
My rule of thumb for the Christmas season is, if the weather is mild and it is a weekend the park will probably be packed. I would suggest trying to fit a visit in during the week if you can.
Otherwise, try to plan ahead as much as possible. Visit the Schedules and Brochures section on SDC's website prior to visiting and decide which shows and activities you would like to see and do most once you arrive.
If it is worth it to you to avoid long lines for the shows you might also consider purchasing a Show Lover's Pass. This pass gets you VIP seating at select show performances for only $10 per person, per show. Plus, you get a free Souvenir mug (an $8.50 value) with each ticket purchased! Show Lover's Passes can be purchased at the booth located just to your right after you go through the turnstiles at Silver Dollar City, or you can purchase them online in advance of your visit.
I hope you have a great visit!
