Q: What happened to Celebration City?

Q: Joni asks, "My husband, 3 yr old son and I go to Celebration City every year since it has been open. We found out tonight that they are not opening for the 2009 season. Why is that? Are they going to close it down for good?

I hope not, cause we really love that place!"

A: What you heard is correct.  Celebration City will not open for the 2009 season.  Herschend Family Entertainment is exploring new development concepts for the site including an aquarium, other family attractions, re-theming the current park and also, destination retail and dining.

Herschend Family Entertainment has provided quality entertainment attractions in Branson for nearly 50 years, and will continue to do so with its current operations such as Silver Dollar City, White Water and the Showboat Branson Belle.  And, hopefully will include an exciting new development for your family to enjoy in the future.

Until then I hope you and your family will consider visiting Silver Dollar City and White Water in 2009!

Its because of the economy. The attendence wasnt that good. They could not afford it anymore. The same reason they put the rides on hold!

That is so sad. My son and I get three park pass every year. Celebration city was by far our favorite. How disappointing. We will really miss that park. I hope they will reconsider.
