Q: What would a 1-year-old enjoy and what about weight limits on rides?

Q: "Jennifer asks, "I have twin one year olds that we are bringing to Branson next week.  We have debated back and forth if there will be anything for them to do at silver dollar city."   They are both walking although not that great.  They also love animals and I think that I have seen there are animals there.

Being a plus sized woman, I am also wondering how many of the rides I will not be able to get on.  I have found many times that rides don't post weight limits, but there are issues once the buckles won't close, bars won't come down, etc.  Do you have any suggestions on which rides I should be able to go on versus which ones there will likely be an issue.  I would like to know this before hand."

A: I also have a 1-year-old, and I definitely think there is enough for toddlers to enjoy at Silver Dollar City.  While my daughter wasn't too excited about the rides yet, (you can read my post about it here) she did enjoy seeing the sights on the park, riding the train, eating in the Mine Restaurant and watching the Saloon Show.  The nice thing about Silver Dollar City is that children under age 4 are admitted for free, so you at least won't be out the admission price for your twins since they can't do as much as older kids can.  For more information about age appropriate rides and attractions for toddlers please see my previous post.

I checked with the Silver Dollar City Attractions Department in regards to your question about weight limits.  Following is the information they shared with me:

"Larger or taller guests (including guests who weigh more than 215 lbs., have a chest dimension of 52 inches or greater, or a 40 inch waistline) may experience difficulty with the seat/restraint system and thus may not be able to ride the following:

Electro Spin, Elephant March, The GIANT Swing, The Grand Exposition Coaster, High-Low Silos, Magnificent Wave Carousel, Regatta, PowderKeg®, Thunderation and WildFire.®"

I hope this helps in planning your trip!
