Q: Julie asks, "whats the difference between celebration city and silver dollar city?"

A: There are actually a lot of differences between these two parks.  First, the parks are open during different times of the day, with Silver Dollar City usually opening around 9-10 AM and closing between 6-7 PM.  Celebration City, on the other hand, is a nighttime attraction opening at 3PM and closing at 10 PM.

The parks also each have a distinct atmosphere, Silver Dollar City has the old-time feel of an 1880s mining town complete with authentic log cabins and employees dressed in period costume.  While Celebration City showcases the best of the 1900s with a vibrancy all over the park that takes you back to the swinging 20s and hoppin' 50s.

Both offer many family fun attractions, but if you are looking for more high-thrill rides like steel coasters and water rides you will find those at Silver Dollar City.  Celebration City is known for its trademark wooden coaster and variety of family-friendly activities such as bumper cars, boardwalk games and mini-golf.

The parks both offer world-class entertainment and shows.  Celebration City is home to a fantastic nightly Laser & Fireworks Spectacular called Ignite the Night.  Silver Dollar City is known for offering a wide variety of shows from an array of musical and entertainment traditions including award-winning gospel and bluegrass musicians as well as full-scale stage productions.

Silver Dollar City is somewhat larger than Celebration City and offers more attractions and entertainment options so the cost for a one-day admission is about $50 compared to $30 for Celebration City.  However, both parks offer excellent value for the price.

Most importantly, both Silver Dollar City and Celebration City offer great family fun, friendly staff and a safe, clean environment where you can create memories with your family.  Why not visit both and experience the differences yourself?  You can save on admission to both parks by purchasing a CityHopper pass.  For more details read this blog post
