Q: Melinda asks, "This will be our first time visiting Silver Dollar City. Where is the best place to stay? It will be myself, my husband two girls and my mother. I am open to suggestions. We would like something reasonable as well.

A:  As a local Mom, I have not stayed at any of the lodging facilities close to Silver Dollar City so I can't help with recommendations.  However, I know some of the other Moms who visit this blog have some experience and might post comments for you.  I would also suggest that you visit websites like TripAdvisor.com Yahoo.com or Expedia.com. These sites provide commentary and reviews from guests who have actually stayed or visited hotels and attractions in Branson.  Hope you enjoy your visit!

We like to stay at BestWestern Music Capital Inn. It will cost a little more, but you are getting what you pay for. Two othe places that are good with lower cost are Branson Towers or the Deer Run Motel. The Deer Run Motel has rooms with a small kitchen, and the Silver Dollar City tram will pick you up in the parking lot. I hope this will help.........

I am not sure if you wanted to stay on the main strip, or farther out, but we LOVE Tanglewood Lodge. The rooms have kitchenettes in them, which really helps us save money on meals when we are there. It also has a playground, tennis courts, swimming pool, rec room with pool table and jukebox, and a dock.
