According to The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, scientists estimate that approximately 12 million Americans suffer from food allergies, and more than 3 million of them are children. 

That means a lot of families are dealing with the effects of food allergies and looking for information to assist in meal planning and preparation, especially when it comes to eating at a restaurant or theme park.

I recently sat down with Terry Riddle, Silver Dollar City's Director of Foods to discuss his team's efforts to assist Silver Dollar City guests that are living with  food allergies.  Terry said, "In many cases allergies prevent a family from enjoying a meal together as a unit, and often families make tremendous sacrifices when dealing with a valued family member's food allergy."  In line with Silver Dollar City's mission of bringing families together when visiting the park, Terry and his team have been working diligently to provide informational resources to guests and their families living with a food allergy.

The Silver Dollar City Foods Team is pleased to announce the launch of their Allergen Information pages on silverdollarcity.com.  These web pages are designed to provide menu selection information with an emphasis on the 8 most common allergens - Dairy, Eggs, Fish, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Shellfish, Soy and Wheat/Gluten.  The pages contain detailed allergen-specific menu options available at many of the restaurants on park.

And, be sure to check out the new Pre-packaged meal selections and Meal Delivery Service.  The pre-packaged meal selections are designed to be free from one or more of the most common allergens and can be requested by utilizing the Meal Delivery Service.  This service allows you to select a meal from the pre-packaged menu and have it delivered to the restaurant of your choice at a time you specify.  No more visiting several places to purchase multiple meals for members of your family.  Just sit back, relax and enjoy your meal- together.
