Silver Dollar City - Family Spring Break Days begin 3/20
Posted by Phaedra in Silver Dollar City, Moms Blog
I live in Springfield, Missouri and after experiencing what feels like the longest, iciest winter on record, my family is very ready for spring.
My arctic attire is getting old and everybody around my house is ready for some sunshine and warms temps. The dogwood trees stand at attention, ready to bud, the clocks have sprung forward, and surely the sun will shine a little more often in coming days. Spending Spring Break in Branson
is an excellent way to treat your family to a getaway from the daily grind. Silver Dollar City is open for Family Spring Break Days beginning March 20! Just in time for many of us to enjoy a well-deserved getaway. With all the snow days this year, looks like my kids are in school through early June. We're going to take a break while we have the chance...because it's going to be a long haul to get to June! There's lots of helpful Spring Break info on this website, or submit any question you may have to the MomsBlog...we'll do our best to answer your question quickly! My family stayed in the Silver Dollar City Campground, The Wilderness, two years ago, and it was incredibly fun! My kids loved the loft-style cabin. Have you ever visited Branson or Silver Dollar City over Spring Break? We encourage you to share your memories, tips, and suggestions online... you might just provide some inspiration to families looking for the perfect 2008 Spring Break destination.

What great weather for Opening Day! A friend and I packed up our kids and headed to Silver Dollar City for Opening Day. When we approached the park we noticed traffic backed up on 76 and wondered...is the park really this busy? The parking attendant pointed us past the Silver Dollar City entrance to the Notch Inn on Hwy. 76 to park. When we got there the line moved really fast as they had busses coming and going every few minutes. Many of the people sitting near me on the bus wondered if the City was so busy that all the parking lots were full, but as we approached the entrance, everyone could see the work being done to widen Indian Point Road and add even more parking spaces. The park wasn't overcrowded after all. We had a great time, enjoyed many rides and my son got his first pop gun. When it was time to go, we lined up for the bus to Notch and were at our cars in no time. Someone in front of us even stated that it was great to be ahead of the traffic as all we had to do was jump on 76. I'm always one for adventure, but my friend admitted that had I not been there, she wouldn't have stayed thinking it was too busy. Boy, would we have missed out on a great day or what! |

It's nice to see that the park provides for busy days and keeps everything moving. There is nothing worse than waiting for ever to get into the park much less to ride rides or see shows. |
