Visiting Ireland...After Discovering a Delicious Breakfast Buffet!

the lead male dancer started step dancing center stage with the entire troupe standing still beside him. There was no music, just the hauntingly beautiful rhythmic sound of his taps. Suddenly, the other dancers joined in. It was as though they were singing a round, with their feet!  It was very dramatic. After the show, we explored the Irish Marketplace, which featured demonstrating craftsmen and educational/cultural displays. I always wondered what “kissing the Blarney Stone” signified. You can learn the answer to that question, plus learn about many other interesting Irish traditions while strolling through the marketplace. It’s a great opportunity to teach your kids about the Emerald Isle. We also planned to see the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda (I’ve seen them before and they are so inspiring) but they were not performing on Sunday. Guess that gives me a good reason to head back to World-Fest before the festival ends on May 4!

We did experience something new this weekend that I wanted to share. Did you know you could enjoy a great breakfast buffet at the Mill Restaurant before the park officially opens? The buffet was very reasonably priced at $8.99 (and delicious). We enjoyed wonderful, friendly service. It was a great way to begin our day at the City. Apparently, the Mill serves breakfast at 8am, every day the park is open. I’ve been going to the City for years, but never noticed the Mill was open for breakfast!

We love the breakfast buffet at the mill! Don't forget that if you're a season pass holder, you get a discount. We like to get to the City early, have the buffet and get done in time to see the gazebo show.

I also went to SDC this past weekend and enjoyed the breakfast at The Mill, the buffet was a great choice for the kids, a guarantee there would be plenty of items they would eat (did I mention I have a picky eater!). We also had great service which started the day off on a good note. My girls enjoyed the Irish dancers and all the different food choices. We had a great time sampling the different kinds of Coke products from around the world (located in the Frisco Barn). We plan to go back before World-Fest ends to see the Watoto Children's Choir. I have seen them perform before at my church and want my children to have the opportunity to see them.
