Hence, we headed straight for the Grand Exposition upon entering the park. It started off fairly well as we waited in line for the Happy Frogs, with Hannah exclaiming her usual, "What's that?" at everything she saw. Then we were the very next people in line. Hannah heard the ride engines start and the waterworks ensued. She stared at those noisy little frogs in fright as I tried to convince her I would never make her do anything she didn't want to do (well, besides eating her peas)! Turns out, for now, Hannah is much happier watching the Elephants fly through the air and eating funnel cakes than she is riding the rides. Despite the frog fiasco, we did have a wonderful trip to the park and she thoroughly enjoyed walking hand in hand with Mommy, riding the train together and enjoying the sights throughout the park.
Motherhood is full if surprises and changing expectations, both of yourself and your kids. What are some things your kids have liked (or disliked) on park that surprised you? Has anyone else had a ride experience like mine with your child? Did your child's opinion of that ride change over time?

We have been visiting SDC for about 11 years with our daughter now. Her first visit I think she was 3 years old. The first visit, I think we spent 5 hours in what was the kiddie ride area back then riding the rollercoaster. She LOVED it! Would not get off. She'd mix it up a bit, but she kept going back to that coaster! She has stepped it up a bit as she has gotten older! The faster and scarier the better!! |
