I like to start my Christmas shopping early during the National Harvest Festival. It helps justify all the treasures I want to buy... for me or someone I love! I always try to get a new piece of jewelry from Jim & Sherri Chappelear, and I really enjoy the variety of pottery that different artisans make. - lgarrison

Some friends of mine purchased a small quilt form one of the crafters as a baby shower gift for my daughter. Since then that blanket has become my daughter's favorite "lovey." She calls it her "kie" (as in blankie) and carries it with her everywhere! Needless to say, whenever "kie" needs a bath it can be a challenge. So, we will probably try to find a back up at the park this year! - Sarah

During the Fall Festival, Jewel Sanders and Susie Everhart at the Cornshuckery are my favorite crafts people. I have scarecrows that I purchased from them years ago that I put out every year when I decorate the house for fall, and they are still looking as good as the day I purchased them!

Year round, I love visiting Hillcreek Pottery. It is by far my favorite shop in the City. I have many pieces of pottery throughout my home that were made by Sarah Gamble. Every time we visit the City, I buy at least one piece of pottery made by Sarah. My children and I love watching her work her magic with the clay, forming many different pieces of pottery. My daughter loves talking with her. If you have had the pleasure of watching her, you know that she is a very talented woman. - kcsmiller

I enjoy Frank "Doughboy" Capps at Sullivan's Mill. He tells a lot of great stories & has put some of them into book form. I had the pleasure of being a Craftsman for a Day with Frank a couple of years ago. What an experience!!! I was able to dress in SDC clothing & bake the awesome Cinnamon bread as well as the breads. - kelleysinok
