One of my worst fears as a parent is losing my daughter in a public place.  So far I have been lucky and I have not found myself separated from her, but she is still really young.  I know as she becomes more independent and curious it is bound to happen at least once.

I was talking to a good friend of mine about this, and she told me that when she visits places like Silver Dollar City with her kids (4 years and 1 year) that she places a piece of paper with her name and cell phone number in her 4-year-old daughter's pocket.  She has explained to her daughter that if they get separated she should find the nearest employee in costume and hand him or her the slip of paper.  This makes her feel more confident that in the event that her child does become lost their reunion will be that much quicker.

I also know as a long time visitor of Silver Dollar City that they place the highest priority on guest's safety at the park.  I feel confident that the employees are well trained to reunite me with my daughter should we become separated when visiting the park.  Though, I think the next time we visit I will try my friend's trick, just to be extra careful.

A friend of mine has 3 boys & she has taken a Sharpie & written their cell phone number on the boys hand or arm. This will not come off when it gets wet & stays on for a couple of days.

I've got two boys and am paranoid about losing them in a large crowd. For a vacation to Disney World a couple of years ago, I had custom t-shirts made for about $7/shirt (shirt cost & printing) that had "If lost, call *******" on the front, upper left side -- with my cell phone number printed on the shirt. We continue to use these anytime we go somewhere, like SDC, that will be crowded. In addition, we (myself, Dad, and kids) also color coordinate our shirts. It is now very easy to remember what the kids are wearing b/c I just have to look at myself to remember. Makes it much easier to spot them in a crowd.
