Happy New Year MomsBloggers

The New Year always brings about a time of reflection for me. I often ask myself what I did well in the previous year and what I would like to see improve. I think the tumultuous year of 2009 has made me feel the need to express more gratitude for the non-material things that make life rich. I didn't get a fabulous pair of boots for Christmas this year, but I do have a precious little girl who makes me smile everyday when I get home from work. I have a job to go to everyday that gives me a sense of purpose and helps me provide for my family. And, I have a loving and caring husband who supports me in every way.
But...isn't it easy to forget those things when life gets busy? When I'm worried about paying the bills maybe I think my job isn't enough. Or when the house is a mess and I just don't feel like I have enough time maybe I turn the blame on the ones I care about the most. So this year, instead of making resolutions to exercise more or eat healthy I think I'd like to resolve to show more gratitude for the simple things in life. The things that really matter.
Whatever you are resolving to do in 2010 I wish you all the best. Here's to a happy, healthy and fabulous New Year!

... I agree... this year was a tough one, and as a result, Christmas seemed more subdued. Its my prayer that everyone felt hope during this season of light. In the new year, I resolve to spend more time with the people I love, and do more to help others. That seems to be the most important thing. |
