09-blog-fall3.jpgFall is in the air and that means the National Harvest Festival is in full swing at Silver Dollar City! My family and I headed down to the City this past weekend to check out the Festival...especially one of the new events, A Salute to the Great American Cowgirl!

If you haven't been to Silver Dollar City during the National Harvest Festival, then let me tell you what your missing. The City celebrates the Harvest in full Fall color complete with scarecrows, pumpkins and fall decor. It's a welcome sight to my eyes. I love walking up the lane and through the Hospitality House onto the City Square to see all the craftsmen and flurry of Harvest activity.

Labor Day Thoughts

This September, I have never been so ready to enjoy Labor Day. The traditional last hurrah of summer greeted me like a winning lottery ticket. Who could ask for more? Well, maybe my teenage son… he worked all Labor Day weekend and Monday experienced “the busiest day ever” at his poolside job. It’s important to note that many people still labor on Labor Day. Thankfully, I didn’t. Not this year. I simply walked my Cocker Spaniel, planted purple mums and enjoyed one of the most beautiful summer days of 2009. Sunny, warm (but not too hot) and just all around pleasant.  If you have some Labor Day thoughts, log on and share! Did you visit Silver Dollar City?
