I am in serious denial about the end of the summer season.  Yes, I know most of the students in my area have gone back to school by now; a surefire sign of the season winding down.  But, I just don't want it to end! 

One of the jobs that helped me pay my way through college was working at Silver Dollar City's Marvel Cave as a cave guide. For five summers and on the weekends in the Spring and Fall, I took guests on the 60 minute walking tour.

Well, I guess whether we like it or not, summer is winding down.  Around here we love summer.  Summer is the time you see most families being intentional about spending time togther.  Vacations and activities are normally geared towards family togetherness.  But what about the other 9 (and a half) months of the year?  What happens to our family time? 

One of my favorite things about summertime is the way the daylight hours trickle well into the evening leaving plenty of opportunity for playing and spending time outdoors during this time of year. 

We're dog lovers in this family.  Our big chocolate lab, Lola, is a beloved family member and we recently added Buddy to our brood, a cute little brown dachshund mix.
