Happy Thanksgiving!
Posted by Noel in Moms Blog
If you're like most people, Thanksgiving can come and go with all the festivities but something can be utterly overlooked!
Okay, so you've planned the menu for weeks, you've invited family and friends to your home and you've cleaned your home to make it warm and welcoming. On the day of the event, your house is filled with the aromas of turkey and pumpkin pie, the sounds of laughter from family and/or friends, and everyone is watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. And, if you've really got your act together, simultaneously you've strategized a shopping trip for Black Friday.
So, you ask...what's missing? Well, actually, it's "thanks giving." It's finding ways to share with family and friends what you are thankful for this year.
What we do in our family has become a tradition on Thanksgiving. Years ago, I made place cards from my Mom with scriptures from the Bible about giving thanks or thanksgiving. Each year, she places them around the table and each person reads their scripture and tells what they are thankful for. My Mom and Dad are always last and then my Dad prays.
Whether it's been a great year for your family or a hard year, we all have things to be thankful for. It will do your heart good to think on the good things and give thanks to God this Thanksgving and everyday! If you have some "thanks giving" familiy traditions, we'd love to hear them!
Hoping you have the Most Thankful Thanksgiving Ever!
