Spring....what a wonderful word! After all the snow, ice and frigid temperatures we've had this winter, just saying the word "Spring" brings a smile to my face and anticipation of all this new season holds. If your family is anything like ours, we are counting the days until Silver Dollar City opens for the first time in 2009 for Family Spring Break Days (March 19-22, 26-27; 9:30 am - 6pm and March 29; 9am - 6pm).

I love riding all the rides at the beginning of the season. This a great time to enjoy your favorite thrilling rides plus check out what's new in all the one-of-a-kind shops the City has to offer...I always stop by the Pottery Shop every chance I get to see what's hot off the wheel! Just a heads-up, shops have a brand new grand opening schedule for 2009, so be sure to check the website to find out opening dates for your favorite shops.

Doc Gizmo is one science class your kids won't mind attending during the break! Phil Arnold, better known as Doc Gizmo, brings a "fun-but-eduational" science theatre presenation that will captivate and amaze kids of all ages.

Laughter is good medicine, so make sure you see Funnyman Chris Stanley as he brings an innovative, family style show that mixes comedy with magic in a way that just might sneak up on you!
