We Need Your Input
Posted by Noel in Silver Dollar City, Moms Blog
Hey Moms and anyone else out there who loves Silver Dollar City! We need your input regarding and idea for Silver Dollar City's Culinary Craft School. Okay...here it is:
The Culinary Craft School is considering a 2-hour specialty class called "The E's of Entertaining, where you Explore EASY and ECONOMICAL ways to ENHANCE your Spring Tablescapes".
This 2 hour class would offer an education in utilizing color, composition and textures to create a crowd pleasing centerpiece and all the details that make an elegant dining table of (what appears) effortless entertaining!! Using the recipes from the Garden Fresh cooking class you’ll learn garnishing techniques to enhance those dishes. Plus, you’ll learn how to incorporate some of the unique pottery, metal works and fabrics found at SDC to create interest in your table decorations. Another highlight would be learning to decorate using edibles. And, if you attend the class you’ll also receive a Market Tote to take home that will help with your edible shopping and our environment too! This class will give you the opportunity to explore the unlimited possibilities of embellishing your dinner table in just 2 hours, and will WOW your guests for a lifetime!
The cost for this specialty class would be $20. Of course you must have an admission ticket to Silver Dollar City in order to attend.
So, let us know what you think. Do you like this idea and would you be interested attending this class? Please respond with your thought by commenting to this blog. We really value your opinion. Thanks! I can’t wait to hear from all of you!

... To be honest, i would love to do it, but usually dont have the time or extra money to take a class. We usually already have the day set, and wouldn't have extra 2 hours. The kids would be long gone by the time the class was over. But do love the idea! |

... You know I am not as excited by this idea and think it really comes down to the cost. I am willing to pay $10 but not $20. The bag isn't really exciting for me because that is just one more thing to carry around the park afterwards. My family and I went to the Easter Side Dishes workshop the first weekend the park opened. It was wonderful! There wasn't hardly anyone there so my husband, daughters and I all went. We sat in the back but could see everythign via the tv's. The food was amazing. She did recipes that I would not have taken a second look at in a recipe book but when we were able to sample them we were sold! In fact we made the potatoes and cole slaw one to take to our family's Easter celebration! |

... This does not excited me either. Our children are young and would not sit there that long for a 2-hour specialty class . My husband would not be happy about taking the kids himself to do the rides. The kids love the show at SDC and at Branson, but this would not keep their attention. We also would not want to pay the $20.00 x 4 people. |

... I don't think this idea would market all that well. I definitely would not do it, nor do I know anyone in my extended family who would want to do this, not even if it were free. There is too much other stuff to do at SDC to spend two hours in a class. |

... I know I would be interested in it, and so would my sister. Um....dad's taking kids by them selves on rides......that's what the dad's in my family does! My dad and my husband both take the kids on rides, while my mom and sisters and I shop! lol hahaha So not a big deal there. The only problem would be the 20 dollar charge. I think if it was included in our ticket, or cheaper, we would for sure do it. Sounds like a fun class to me. |
