Q: Melanie asks, "I thought a new ride was going in where the balloon ride used to be but I see nothing about it on the website. Is there one? If not, why did they take out the balloon ride and carousel?" A: In light of the economy, in a time when smart businesses must make smart decisions, we have decided to delay the opening of Silver Dollar City's new RiverBlast until 2010. Unfortunately, the decision to delay the opening of RiverBlast (which will be located at the old Tom Sawyer's area) was made after Becky's Carousel, Skychase Balloons and the Rope Tower had been removed. I hope you'll enjoy our many other rides and attractions for children including the Geyser Gulch play area and 10 family rides at the Grand Exposition.Of course our festivals will continue to bring you new and exciting entertainment throughout the year, as well as the park's own shows, restaurants and craftsmen. We appreciate your understanding and your loyalty. We will do our best to continue to offer the highest quality entertainment we can for you and your family!

... ok I am a little upset with them taking out the ballon ride I thought the new ride when it opened would be near the balloon ride but that it would still be there. Could you please help me figure out what rides my daughter can ride as she is 34" tall? I am planning a trip and need to know what rides she is big enough for. Also how tall do you have to be to ride the new ride when it opens? |

... Silver Dollar City has a lot to offer families and plenty of activities to keep your kids busy all day. Your family will probably enjoy the big play area on park, Geyser Gulch. It's a huge playground in the sky with tons of activities to keep your kids entertained. (You will need to go in the play area with them, as children under age 5 should be accompanied by an adult). The Grand Exposition area is also a favorite. Your daughter can ride the Ladybugs all by herself, and Wings Of Wonder and Happy Frogs with a companion. Some of the traditional favorites at Silver Dollar City are fun for kids of all ages and offer lots of opportunity for making memories as a family. Those rides, attractions and shows include the Frisco Silver Dollar Line Steam Train, Grand Father's Mansion and the Flooded Mine (which she can ride with an adult). I would also suggest The Silver Dollar Saloon - the colorful action-packed show seems to keep the attention of most little ones. One nice thing about Silver Dollar City is that kids under the age of 4 years enter the park for free. So, you won't have to pay a full priced admission for your daughter. Hope this helps! Be sure to check out the rides and shows sections at silverdollarcity.com for more information. |

... Do you know when any details will be released regarding "RiverBlast"? I've been waiting anxiously for quite some time to hear how it will be themed into the area. |
