Q: Arricka asks, "My husband and I are thinking of coming with our 2 year old daughter to Silver Dollar City. I am curious to know if there are many rides or things for her to do in the different parks.
As I was reading I noticed that many of the rides said that they were for ages 8 and up or have height limitations. Is there a youth section for the little kids to ride rides? Are there any other activites in the area for our family to enjoy? A: Silver Dollar City has a lot to offer families and plenty of activities to keep your kids busy all day. The Grand Exposition area is one my family's favorites because there are 10 family rides all in one area of the park. With rides like the Elephant March, Happy Frogs and Royal Tea Party there is something for kids of all ages and lots of opportunity for making memories as a family. The minimum height requirement for most of the kiddie rides is 36". Your family will probably also enjoy the big play area on park, Geyser Gulch. It's a huge playground in the sky with tons of activities to keep your kids entertained. (You will need to go in the play area with them, as children under age 5 should be accompanied by an adult). I would also suggest a ride on the train as it is always a family favorite. The Saloon Show is a good show for all ages, and if you visit during KidsFest (June 6 - August 9, 2009) there is a greater selection of kid-friendly shows and activities during that time-frame. One nice thing about Silver Dollar City is that kids under the age of 4 years enter the park for free. So, you won't have to pay a full priced admission for your daughter. Hope this helps! Be sure to check out the rides and shows sections at silverdollarcity.com for more information.
