Q: Jenna asks, "I have four crazy kids and we have decided to come to SDC! I was wondering what would be a good outfit to wear for the most comfort and flexibility AND for the rides? It is supposed to be mid seveties when we come!

A: Wear something comfortable and casual! Most people wear blue jeans or shorts when visiting.  Because Silver Dollar City is located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, you won't always be walking on flat land.  But to fully appreciate the park, you will be walking quite a bit.  I would recommend tennis shoes, if that's most comfortable for you.

You'll want to avoid loose articles on rides. According to our attractions department, "Loose articles (including cell phones and cameras) must be removed prior to riding. Waist packs (or fanny packs) must be removed prior to riding PowderKeg, WildFire, Thunderation and The GIANT Swing. For safety reasons and in consideration for guests waiting in line, items lost inside a ride perimeter cannot be retrieved until park closing."

Even though we do have water rides, swimsuits are prohibited.  And you won't need to worry about seeing profane, illegal or suggestive material, as it is prohibited as well.

If you plan on riding any of the water rides, I would suggest going with something other than denim, which takes quite awhile to dry out. The nylon type soccer shorts are great because they dry out fast! That being said, I usually wear denim shorts and suffer through the wet. Also remember that if you have generous thighs like mine, the wet of denim especially can tend to rub and irritate skin.

I would say just wear what you are most comfortable in! I have been in every season, wearing about anything--and I can honestly say, that I always have a great time! Be prepared for cooler temps, warmer temps, and wetness(be it from rain or water rides). Have a great time!
