Q: Debbie asks, "On our last visit we heard that one of our favorite shops was closing. That was one of our first shop to visit.  We will miss our friends that we made through out the years in that shop. We also heard that no all the shops will be open at the start of the season but staggered opening dates though out the first part of the season. Whats the scoop on this? Thanks"

A:  Sorry for the delay, Debbie.  I checked with the folks from the SDC Merchandise team and here's the response:

Thank you for your inquiry.  Each year we review shops and product lines based on guest demand to determine if they should be repeated for the following season, or if something new would better match merchandise trends and meet costomer needs.  In the case of Aunt Molly's the guest vote and sales trend over the past few years has indicated that this shop should not be repeated in 2009.  We will take the top selling products from Aunt Molly's and place them in Heartland Home Furnishings for 2009.  The majority of our Merchandise Shops will open in March with the opening of the park however some shops will open during the festival in which they have been most popular. All Merchandise shops will open by the beginning of the Spring Bluegrass & BBQ Festival.  You can check the website for more information about specific opening dates.
